The state of Illinois now requires all dogs and cats adopted from shelters to be tagged with a microchip at the new owner’s expense. In order to make the requirement easier on anyone who would like to adopt, the Pike County Animal Shelter will offer $20 from the Grey Charitable Trust toward the cost of the chip to anyone who adopts one of their animals.
